Silver Lane
The pool house at this Purley home brings swimming, relaxation and wellbeing together in a bright, carefully considered space. Designed by KJC Architects, it centres on a 10 × 4 metre swimming pool, with a spa pool, sauna and generous poolside area for rest and entertaining. A built-in bar creates a relaxed place to gather and enjoy the space.
A dramatic, three-metre-high tiled feature wall forms a focal point within the pool hall, incorporating a water feature that adds movement and sound to the room. Blue mosaic tiles line the pool, complemented by large-format pale floor tiles and crisp, light-coloured walls. Above, a star-effect ceiling spans the pool area, bringing a distinctive atmospheric quality to the space. Tall windows and glazed doors draw in daylight and connect the poolside with views of the garden, while a vaulted ceiling gives the interior a sense of height and openness. The adjoining timber-lined sauna offers a warm, intimate contrast.
Externally, the pool house takes its cues from the original home, designed by William Webb. Its form, materials and architectural style are carefully matched to the existing house, allowing the addition to sit naturally within the property. The result is a dedicated leisure space that feels connected to the character of the home while offering a distinct setting for swimming, relaxation and entertaining.
